Hi, my name is Gerrard and I am "Mr Smith". I coach people to achieve great results, and have a great experience along the way.
In my world the training is at least half the fun, and events and races are the opportunity to put it all together for a great result. I want you to have the same experience.
I have competed in Olympic distance, half Ironman, and Ironman triathlons, as well as cycling events, ocean swims, half marathons, and various other running events.. And yes, I loved it all!
There have been plenty of successes in my training and racing, but I've had some hard lessons too: training approaches that didn't work, injuries, and poorly executed races. I've taken some knocks, and you get the benefit of these hard lessons.
So what's with the "Mr Smith's" name?
No you don't have to call me Mr Smith (but "sir" is perfectly fine...). I wanted a name to represent something different to all the other "performance coach" kind out names out there. Yes you still get the performance with my coaching but you also get a lot more support and personal service along the way - not just a boring old training plan.
And is there a "Mrs Smith"?
You betcha! There would be no Mr Smith's if it weren't for Mrs Smith. She keeps the engine fed, marshals the kids and supporters for events, and tells me to harden up during races. She is an incredible supportive wife who helps me remember that training is about balance.
