Our Season Plan

You choose when to join the squad

You can join at any stage though the year. Our main blocks of training begin from:

Late March: run focus, building to The Wuu2k Marathon. OR bike/run foundations building to a June Half IM distance challenge

July: extend swim bike and run base training towards a Spring training camp

September: Half Ironman race specific preparation

December / January: extend to Ironman, or another Half IM

Smart Training Plans

Our training plans include key daily workouts with options tailored to the amount of training time you have.

Choose a training plan to suit your goals:

  • Challenge yourself with a mix of endurance and intensity
  • Perform to a higher level with more specific training

Workouts are specified for heart rate, cycling power, running pace, and perceived effort to suit whatever your approach is.


Online Support

We run a private Facebook Group so everyone can stay connected. Through this Facebook group you can:

  • Ask questions - any and all questions encouraged!
  • Get feedback from coach and other team members
  • Contribute your experience and ideas
  • Stay motivated with the support of a team
  • Learn about the smart ways to train and race

Training Camps

Squad members get first option to join our training camps:

  • Spring camp - New for 2020: September camp + 70.3 event in Sunshine Coast!
    Escape the NZ winter and go big to finish your base training!

  • Summer camp - January in Taupo to simulate and test Ironman race day plans, or a bigger weekend of training prior to 70.3

(Training camp fees are additional to your monthly squad fees)
